Sodium petroleum sulfonate T702
Sodium sulfonate belongs to anti-rust and emulsifying additive with good oil solubility. It is made from middle and light machine oil through reaction with fuming sulphuric acid or sulfur trioxide. After the acid sludge or free sulfur trioxide is removed, sulfoacid is neutralized by sodium hydroxide and the neutralizing products are extracted by ethyl alcohol-water solution. Finally sodium sulfonate is made through oil removal, removing inorganic salt by washing and dehydration.
It has excellent anti-rust ability to ferrous metal and nonferrous metal and can be used as short-term antirust agent due to the hydrophilicity of sodium atom. It is widely applied to displacement type anti-rust oil and metal cutting emulsified oil and has anti-rust, emulsifying and lubricating effects. In addition, it can also be used as detergent and emulsifying agent. With the increase of molecular weight, the anti-rust ability increases, while the emulsibility and hydrophilicity reduces. The soft water should be used for making emulsified oil so as not to affect the emulsifying effect. The additive amount: anti-rust emulsified oil: 17%, extreme pressure emulsified oil: 20%.
